Support for setting up exceptional third attempts in Blackboard for students who have failed a reassessment
This guidance is related to exceptional third attempts in the 2023/24 academic year.
The following guidance has been curated to support you in setting up an exceptional third attempt in Blackboard for students who have failed a reassessment:
- Setting up a coursework submission point in Blackboard, and instructions for students to follow when completing and submitting a reassessment attempt in Blackboard.
- Setting up a grade column in the Blackboard Grade Centre (for a paper/written exam)
- Setting up an online exam in Blackboard.
For early adopters of Blackboard Ultra, please look at these instructions:
- Setting up a coursework submission point in Ultra (video made by Blackboard). Please use a 3pm deadline and allow unlimited attempts in the settings.
- Setting up a grade column in Ultra Gradebook (for a paper/written exam), follow these steps:
- Enter the Gradebook
- From the Grades view, select the plus sign between rows to access the menu. OR From the Gradable items view, select the plus sign between columns to access the menu.
- Select Add Item
- A panel will open on the right where you can provide a name for the grade column and select other settings like visibility and due date
- Save when finished
