How do I integrate LinkedIn Learning courses into my Blackboard site?
LinkedIn Learning is an online educational platform that helps students discover and develop creative, technology-related and study skills through expert-led course videos. Each course is broken down into a series of short videos that are easy to follow. You can integrate entire LinkedIn Learning courses, or deep-link to relevant content from LinkedIn Learning courses, in your Blackboard sites allowing streamlined access to content and progress tracking.
Please note that the integration was updated in January 2024. If you have integrated LinkedIn Learning courses into your Blackboard sites previously, these links may no longer work and will need integrating again.
Choose either getting started integrating LinkedIn Learning in a classic Blackboard site or getting started integrating LinkedIn Learning in a Blackboard Ultra site.
Classic site Step 1: In a content area (or folder within a content area), choose LinkedIn Learning 1.3 from the Build Content menu. LinkedIn Learning will launch. Jump to Step 2 (guidance from Step 2 onwards is the same regardless of whether you are integrating LinkedIn Learning in a classic or Ultra site).
Ultra site Step 1a: Click the (add content) + button where you want to integrate LinkedIn Learning in your Ultra site, and choose Integrated Tools. Jump to Ultra site Step 1b.
Ultra sites Step 1b: On the Integrated Tools page click LinkedIn Learning 1.3. LinkedIn Learning will launch. Jump to Step 2 (guidance from Step 2 onwards is the same regardless of whether you are integrating LinkedIn Learning in a classic or Ultra site).
Step 2: Once LinkedIn Learning has launched, use the search box to search for a LinkedIn Learning course or click a ‘popular skills’ pill to browse LinkedIn Learning courses relate to that skill.
Step 3: You will see a list of LinkedIn Learning courses matching your search term or selected skill. You can further refine the list of LinkedIn Learning courses to choose from by using the available filters on the left of the screen. You can filter by format or type (such as video or audio content), level (beginner, intermediate, or advanced), or select relevant software or specific subjects. Once you have identified the LinkedIn Learning course that you would like to integrate in your Blackboard site, click the Add button. You can add multiple courses. Once you have selected the courses to add, click the Confirm button. You will return to your Blackboard site and you will see the integrated LinkedIn Learning course(s).
Step 4: Alternatively, you can view a breakdown of the content of a LinkedIn Learning course by clicking on Course contents under the course thumbnail image. This allows you to select and create deep-links to videos, creating a more relevant playlist of LinkedIn Learning content in your Blackboard site. Once you have selected the content to add, click the Confirm button. You will return to your Blackboard site and you will see the integrated LinkedIn Learning content.
Step 5: Associated grade columns for the integrated LinkedIn Learning course content will be automatically created in the Grade Centre (classic sites) or Gradebook (Ultra sites) allowing you to track progress.
