Private Blogs: Overview

A Private Blog is a self-reflective tool for students to share thoughts with their instructors. Private Blogs can be made available site-wide and in group spaces. They are similar in function to Shared Blogs, as both tools allow posting of new entries and comments to entries. However, the main difference is that only the student and the instructor are able to comment on Private Blog entries, whereas Shared Blog entries are read and commented on by other enrolled users.

The instructor can allow class members to view each others' Private Blog, just not comment. (The Shared Blog feature should be used if you want others to comment on entries).

A Private Blog consists of:

Entries: Text, images, links and attachments posted by individual students.

Comments: Remarks or responses to a blog entry made by the instructor.
